Black Sea Tours in Georgia

8 tours

Batumi is the odd one out in Georgia: subtropical, loud, half glass towers and half nineteenth-century facades, with palm trees along the seafront and the Turkish border half an hour away. These are the tours that actually reach the coast and spend nights there, rather than passing through western Georgia on the way somewhere else. On the coast you get the hillside botanical garden north of town, the boulevard and the Argo cable car, the moving Ali and Nino statue, and Adjarian cooking — above all the boat-shaped khachapuri with an egg on top. Each trip pairs the sea with the mountains or the wine country inland. Five to twenty days.
