Georgia Visa & Entry Requirements: Visa-Free, e-Visa, and Rules

Georgia — the country in the South Caucasus — has one of the most generous visa regimes in the world. Visa-free entry based on a third-country visa or residence permit

Citizens of countries not listed above may visit Georgia without a visa if they hold a valid visa or residence permit of one of the following countries. The visa or residence permit must be valid on arrival, and this allows a stay of up to 90 days in any 180-day period.

Additional special cases

Some travelers may enter or stay without a visa under specific conditions. Foreign citizens holding travel documents issued by the United Nations or its specialized institutions may stay visa-free for up to one year. Holders of diplomatic or official passports of China, Egypt, and Indonesia may enter visa-free for up to 30 days in any 90-day period. Group 1 applicants must also provide a valid supporting document (Schengen or OECD visa or residence permit). Citizens of countries not listed in either the visa-free or e-Visa categories must apply for a physical visitor visa through a Georgian embassy or consulate before traveling.

General entry requirements

All travelers entering Georgia should have the following available at the border: a valid passport with sufficient remaining validity for the intended stay; proof of accommodation (a hotel booking or guesthouse address); an onward or return ticket (border officials may ask for it); and travel/health insurance.
